Sport BC Presidents' Awards 

The Sport BC Presidents’ Awards are presented annually to volunteers from Sport BC member organizations who represent the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy, and commitment contribute to the development of their sport or organization.  . Community Sport Hero - Tri Cities

Celebrating its 13th year, the Community Sport Hero Awards, partnered with KidSport and provincial sport organizations. The program recognizes coaches, officials, mentors and administrators who have dedicated themselves to amateur sport at the community level.  To read more on this award and access the application form here >>> Nominations shall be received by Monday, January 18th

Premier's Award for Aboriginal Youth Excellence in Sport

The Province of B.C. and the Aboriginal Sport Recreation and Physical Activity Partners Council (Partners Council) have collaborated to establish a new awards program to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Aboriginal youth athletes throughout the province.   To read more on this award program and to access the application form click here >>>  Nominations shall be received by Thursday, January 21st.

 SPORT BC PRESIDENTS’ AWARD

Badminton BC will submit a nomination for the prestigious Sport BC’s Presidents’ Awards.  We recognize that there are many volunteers in the Badminton community that are worthy of this nomination so we are turning to you for your input.

 The Presidents’ Awards are presented annually to volunteers from Sport BC member organizations who represent the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy, and commitment contribute to the development of their sport or organization.  Sport BC member organizations are eligible to recognize one volunteer per year.

Criteria:

  • Nomination form must be typed or word processed
  • Nomination form must be submitted to awards@badmintonbc.com by Wednesday, January 6th, 2016.

Badminton BC will ensure all nominees are advised of their nomination including the successful applicant to Sport BC.  The nominator of the successful applicant will also be notified.  All information collected on the nomination form will be kept confidential and will only be used solely for the purpose of this award. COMMUNITY SPORT HERO AWARD - TRI CITIES

Badminton BC has the opportunity to submit a nomination for the 2015/2016 Community Sport Hero Award for the Tri-Cities area (Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam).  We recognize that there are many volunteers in the Badminton community that are worthy of this nomination so we are turning to you for your input.

Celebrating its 13th year, the Community Sport Hero Awards, partnered with KidSport. The program recognizes coaches, officials, mentors and administrators who have dedicated themselves to amateur sport at the community level.  Since its inception in 2001, 50 Provincial Sport Organizations have honoured 536 sport volunteers in 45 different communities.

In 2015/2016, the Community Sport Hero Award has made the rounds to three communities thus far with Tri-Cities being the last to present this prestigious award

Criteria:

  • Nomination form must be typed or word processed
  • Nomination form must be submitted to awards@badmintonbc.com by Monday, January 18th, 2016.

PREMIER'S ABORIGINAL YOUTH EXCELLENCE IN SPORT AWARD

Badminton BC has the opportunity to submit nominations for the 2014 - 2015 Premier’s Award for Aboriginal Youth Excellence in Sport Award.  We recognize that there are many athletes in the Badminton community that are worthy of this nomination so we are turning to you for your input.

The Province of B.C. and the Aboriginal Sport Recreation and Physical Activity Partners Council (Partners Council) have collaborated to establish a new awards program to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Aboriginal youth athletes throughout the province.

The Premier’s Awards for Aboriginal Youth Excellence in Sport will recognize athletes who have excelled in performance sport, display strong leadership qualities, are committed to higher education, and who serve as community role models both on and off the field of play in the years 2014 and 2015. 

Youth athletes (under 25 years of age) currently training and competing in performance sport are invited to apply for one of 12 Premier’s Awards (6 male and 6 female), which will be awarded annually.

Recipients will be honoured at a formal ceremony conducted at the 2016 Gathering Our Voices Aboriginal Youth Conference in Victoria on March 21, 2016.  Recipients will also receive an invitation to attend a special Aboriginal Youth Sport Leadership Forum that is held annually during Gathering Our Voices.
