Badminton BC Athletes Top In Nation!

The 2013 Yonex Canadian National Championships took place at the Gatineau Sports Centre in Gatineau, QC last week from January 30th to February 2nd, 2013.

Of British Columbian Note:

  • BC athletes took home 10 out of a possible 24 medals.
  • All of the 10 medals were either Gold (MS, MD x2, WD, XD) or Silver (WS, MD x2, WD, XD).
  • There were only 8 BC participants in a field of 105 Canadians.
  • Congratulations to Bobby Milroy on being the first person to win Men's Singles National Titles spanning over a decade since 1948.
  • Congratulations to Phyllis Chan on winning her first Open National Title in Women's Doubles.
  • There is a bright future ahead for Christin Tsai who won 2 Silver Medals in Women's Singles and Women's Doubles at the young age of 17.
