Voting Time - Spread the Word!

Ballots for the 2014-2014 Badminton BC Board of Directors Election have been emailed out. If you have not received one, it is because you are not currently a member in good standing with Badminton BC. Renew your membership today, and we will send you a ballot before the vote closes on September 5 at 11:59pm. Lastly, help ensure higher voter participation in our election by spreading the word in your badminton community!

Election Notice

All Badminton BC members in good standing age 16 and above are eligible to vote in the election to determine the 2014-2015 Board of Directors. Download the Nominations Committee Report, or continue reading to see the positions available for election and the background of each of our four nominees. 

This election will be electronic by email ballot and take place between August 25 and September 5. An email ballot has been sent out to all members in good standing of Badminton BC. Any members wishing a mail-in (paper) ballot will need to contact Badminton BC directly by email at info@badmintonbc.com or by phone at 604-385-3595. 

Nominees for the Board of Directors

The Badminton BC Nominations Committee wishes to present the slate of nominations.  The nominees are: 

Alexandra Emlyn
Is the Chair of the Badminton Committee at the Hollyburn Country Club and successfully run departments, regional operations, and her own successful company over the past 25 years.  Alex brings a great deal of experience with strategic planning, budgeting and management of groups of people that work all over the province.  Successful in working with government to gain grants and tax credits and has been a successful business owner. Enjoys working with committees and teams of people diverse in backgrounds and experiences.

Dawn McGuire-Reeves
Brings to Badminton BC over 23 years of experience in the not for profit environment and currently holds the position of Vice President for Badminton BC. A career educator and school administrator with over 7 years of direct experience in working with budgets, grant writing, overseeing and evaluating staff; a liaison with Boards and governments and diverse cultures.  Dawn’s objective is to use her experience, energy, skills and passion to engage the badminton community in BC. 

Henry Wong
Is the President of the Westlu Badminton Club and a Director at the Rosewood Manor.  Henry brings expertise in Risk Management and Risk Assessment and feels his skill set can benefit Badminton BC in a number of areas - not for profit work, special events, administration, program evaluation, training and education.   He is an NCCP Level 2 Badminton coach.

Raymond Wong
Has been a Vancouver Racquets Club Board member since 1993 and currently is the Past President.  He has chaired many VRC committees including Canadian Master’s Championships, Planning, Membership and Fundraising.  Previously Raymond has served Badminton BC in a number of capacities.  He is the past Badminton BC Volunteer of the Year and Sport BC President’s Award Recipient.
