Update: on November 7, 2020 PHO order

Dear Sports Leaders,

On November 10, 2020 we received new updates on the previously posted Provincial Health Officer Order.  The order is now in place till Monday, November 23, 2020 and it applies to the following communities within the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health regions

Abbotsford

Lions Bay

Richmond

Agassiz

Maple Ridge

Sunshine Coast Regional District

Burnaby

Mission

Surrey

Chilliwack

New Westminster

Squamish

Coquitlam

North Vancouver

Vancouver

Delta

Pemberton

West Vancouver

Fraser Valley Regional District

Pitts Meadows

Whistler

Hope

Port Coquitlam

White Rock

Howe Sound

Port Moody

 

Langley

Qathet Regional District (Powell River area)

 

By order and direction of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), all individuals, place of work and business in the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley must significantly reduce their level of social interactions and travel.

We are still waiting for the formal order to be released, but at this time this is what we know about the sport activities in the above regions

  • Travel to, from and between the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions for athletic competitions like games and tournaments are restricted under this order.  Travel should be limited to essential travel only.
  • Indoor, contact sport activities must revert back to physically distanced activities as per Phase 2 of   viaSport Return to Sport guidelines          
  • Indoor, non contact sport can continue with activities as before, except for travel restriction as listed above.
  • It is recommended that no spectators attending outdoor or indoor activities/events
