BC Restart Plan - Step 3 - What does it mean for sport?

STEP 3 is in effect as of July 1, 2021

 

OUTDOOR SPORT

  • Physical distance does not need to be maintained on or off the field of play
  • Masks are not recommended
  • Canada wide travel allowed.  International travel must follow federal restrictions and guidance
  • CSI-P athletes adhere to all Step 3 guidance
  • Maximum group size - only limit is for seated events which are allowed up to 5,000 or 50% of capacity whichever is greater.

 

INDOOR SPORT

  • Physical distance does not need to be maintained on or off the field of play
  • Mask use is not recommended on the field of play, but are recommened off the field of play for those 12 and over who have are not fully vaccinated.
  • Canada wide travel allowed.  International travel must follow federal restrictions and guidance.
  • CSI-P athletes adhere to all Step 3 guidance
  • Maximum group size - only limit is for seated events which are allowed up to 50 or 50% of capacity, whichever is greater.

 

 

Do you still need to have a COVID-19 Safety Plan?

Sport organizations are no longer required to have a COVID 19 Safety Plan, however, should consider develop a Communicable Disease Response Plan.

WorkSafe BC has outlined a 4 step process and a planning template to help employers reduce the risk of communicable disease in their spaces.  This resources can also support sport organizaitions in the planning of communicable disease response.  You can find more information in here.

If you need more information on communicable disease response, BC Centre for Disease Control promotes appropriate handwashing, personal hygiene, ventilation and staying home when sick practices outlined by their Communicable Disease Control Manual.
