viaSport, the BC Games Society and the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific are excited to share that applications for the BC Games Coach Mentorship Program has been extended to July 28, 2025 in advance of the 2026 BC Winter Games.  The BC Games Coach Mentorship Program is a partnership between viaSport and the BC Games Society, designed to support the development of key mentors within sports and increase the current capacity of sport leaders in BC. To learn more visit the website below: viasport.ca/bc-games-coach-mentorship-program.

Badminton in the 55+ BC Games is a four day competition featuring a recreational division and a competitive division in all events as well as an open division in the 80-84 and 85+ age categories.  Events include men and women’s singles, men and women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

Registration for the 2025 Games is scheduled to begin on March 1, 2025.  For information about the event, including results from the 2024 Games, visit our website www.55plusbcgames.org

This week President Andy Zhu had the privilege of meeting Victor Lai, who has just returned from Paris after making history at the 2025 World Championships. His remarkable performance on the world stage is a proud moment for Canadian badminton and an inspiration for all of us.

For our junior players especially — Victor’s journey is a reminder that with hard work, resilience, and belief in yourself, Canadians can and do succeed at the very highest levels of our sport.

On behalf of Badminton BC, we extend our congratulations to Victor and look forward to cheering him on as he continues to inspire the next generation of athletes.

August 29 2025 - 7-DAY NOTICE is hereby given to all members of Badminton BC. The 2025 Annual General Meeting will be held Friday, September 5, 2024 at 7:00 PM Pacific Time both in-person at Vancouver Racquets Club, 4867 Ontario Street, Vancouver, BC V5V 3H4 and online. Thank you to all that have registered so far.

Registration for the AGM has been EXTENDED and will re-open at 11:59 PM Friday, August 29 2025!

Registration will close 11:59 PM Sunday, August 31 2025.

Badminton BC is now hiring for the position of General Operations Manager. This is the senior manager position responsible for the daily operations and strategic implementation of Badminton BC, in partnership with the Board of Directors. This role encompasses overseeing programs, financial management, staff supervision, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the organization meets its goals and objectives.

We are now 100 years old and we look forward to that celebration along with the 2024-2025 Best of BC Awards and Recognition for athletes, coaches, officials, clubs, and volunteers.
