We are listening!! Our initial research told us that moving the BC Closed to late May would work but when VP-elect Arak Bhokanandh announced the change, strong feedback told us that we needed to keep it at the June date.
To show that we are listening and responding to the athletes and coaches suggestions, the date will remain at the original June 11-13 at Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver.

To all Athletes and Coaches,
In response to your feedback and suggestions, Badminton BC will be holding the BC Closed Provincial Championships on June 11-13th as originally planned. The tournament will take place at the Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver.
We had thought that moving the tournament into May would be better for all but it was not the case. Better judgement prevailed and we are moving it back to the original date of June 11-13 to accommodate as many players as possible.
Upon sending out the notice regarding the May 21st date, it was pointed out by players and coaches that:
- the May date conflicts with Badmintology’s “End of Year” tournament
- many people have already made May long weekend plans.
- It was not enough time for those outside of Vancouver to make appropriate travel arrangements.
We hope that staying at its original date of June 11-13, more players will be able to compete at the tournament. If you have already entered, your entry fee will be carried over. If you are unable to play on the June 11-13 weekend, please just contact the Badminton BC office and we will refund your entry fee.
