Officials Pathway

Officials are an integral part of any sport and it is their involvement that makes it possible for Badminton BC to run structured and fair tournaments.  Officiating is another way to participate in badminton, whether you are currently playing, retired, or just have a passion for badminton.  Participating in an officiating workshop is also a great way to learn about tournament regulations and the rules of competition; parents of competing athletes are encouraged to join an officials workshop to develop their knowledge of the sport.

The following is the Officials Development Pathway in BC.

Workshops will be offered throughout the year and will be listed here. If you would like to be contacted when a course comes up, please email sportdevelopment@badmintonbc.com and asked to be put on the officials course list.

BC's current officials capacity is at an all-time low and it is impacting our ability to host fair and efficient tournaments across the province. If you are interested in becoming an official or would like more information, please contact Alvin Lau at sportdevelopment@badminton.com or call 604-385-3560.
