Wow what a weekend. Congratulations to all teams participating in the 2009 tournament. The final day was very exciting for all eight matches. Of the final 8 matches for final placings, only two games win higher than a 7-4 score. Most matches went to 6-5.
For 3rd spot, girls doubles Clarmont vs J.N Burnett, 3rd game 21-19. Back and forth action with Clarmont prevaling for the bronze medal.
A team that had to qualify through a wildcard entry.
For 1st Eric Hamber vs VC/LFA, it came down to the last three games. Boys doubles and mixed doubles were the last games on and Hamber had to win two of the three to take the title. The boys split and everyone rushes around the mixed doubles court to cheer on their teams. Hamber wins at the same time that Claremont wins and the gyms are in a frenzy.
Way to go to all teams. Mt Baker wins the Rich West Sportsmanship trophy and the prize pack from Black Knight.
To the Island we go next year with Spectrum hosting. We are glad you came and I hope you enjoyed yourself while you were here.
Thanks
Mr. Mike Hoven
Tournament Commissioner
