Badminton Canada Coach Accreditation

New Coaching Policy and Coach Accreditation Process

As per the attached Coach Certification Policy which has been circulated to all of the provinces, there is a minimum certification level necessary to be allowed to coach at the Yonex Elite Series, Yonex Junior Elite Series events and/or National Championships. In order to be allowed to coach at any of these events, the following steps must all be completed prior to access being granted-

1-     The individual must be a member in good standing with their home province (including being up to date on any provincial coaching membership fees)

2-     Register with Badminton Canada and pay the yearly $50 coaching membership fee-  https://badmintoncanada.tournamentsoftware.com/member/createorganizationaccount.aspx?id=109053C1-3EB9-4B13-866F-E906C6054443

3-     Register online to indicate your interest in coaching at the Elite/Jr Elite Series and/or National Championships- http://badmintoncanada.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/tournament.aspx?id=81418CED-3CC8-49BC-A010-7B013896BD8F

4-     Badminton Canada will then check the CAC Coaches Locker to confirm you have the proper level of certification and will then request that you send a passport-style photo to Ann Moran (cc’d above) and indicate to Ann the first event of the season you plan to attend and that the pass will be needed.

5-     Badminton Canada will create the pass and will send it to the event indicated, to be picked up at the event registration

6-     The certified coach will need to keep this pass and bring it to any future events for that season- anyone without their pass will not be allowed access to coach

7-     Lost passes can be reprinted for a fee of $25 per reprint

Requests for membership and participation in any event close one week after athlete registration closes for that event. No late requests will be accepted.

For any further information, please contact Ann Moran at ann@badminton.ca
