We are excited to form a new Parents Committee and would like to invite interested parents to be part of this group. The goal is to build a stronger and more connected community for our youth athletes in a collaborative way.

The Purpose of the Committee

Improve communication between parents, coaches, and the program.

Provide a platform to exchange information and share feedback.

Support the program through volunteering and event coordination.

Help with parent education and better understanding of athlete development and competition pathways.

Join the Committee

To help organize and guide this group, we are looking for four volunteer parents to serve on the Parents Committee. We need one parent representative from each age group including U13, U15, U17, and U19. This helps ensure balanced representation and communication across all age levels. These volunteers will assist with coordination and organizing occasional meetings or initiatives.

A Low Pressure Commitment

This committee is meant to be collaborative and supportive rather than time intensive. The goal is to listen, share ideas, and work together to help improve the experience for both players and families.

Please note that the committee will review all submissions before final selections are made to ensure we have representation across all divisions.

We are excited to invite players to the Jack Underhill BC Open Series 2026, hosted at the historic Vancouver Racquets Club. This tournament features both Open A and Open B categories across all disciplines.

Event Details:

Dates 🗓: February 6-8, 2026

Location📍: Vancouver Racquets Club – 4867 Ontario Street, Vancouver, BC

Events: Men’s & Women’s Singles, Men’s & Women’s Doubles, & Mixed Doubles

Registration & Fees:

One Event: $85

Two Events: $105

Three Events: $115

Important Deadlines ⏰:

Registration Opens: January 9th, 2026

Entry Deadline: January 23rd, 2026 (11:59pm PST)

Note: A late entry fee of $40+GST applies after the deadline.

Withdrawal Deadline: January 24th, 2026

The Board of Directors would like to share a few important updates with our community.

Peter Kho has stepped down from the Board and has relinquished his role as Vice-President. We extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to Peter for his dedication and service over the past 11 months. During a period of significant transition for the organization, Peter generously contributed his time, expertise, and leadership, making a meaningful and lasting impact on Badminton BC.

At the December 17, 2025 Board meeting, Michael Diao was elected as Vice-President. The Board is also pleased to share that, effective January 1, 2026, Denise Jefferys will step into the role of Secretary, and Lisa Davison will take on the position of Director at Large.

We look forward to the leadership, energy, and experience they will bring to their new roles as we move into 2026.
