Club Membership

 

Badminton BC is a member based organization where players, coaches, officials, volunteers, supporters and other stakeholders are encouraged to affiliate with a club. Club Membership categories are exclusive to Badminton BC.

 

Clubs that do affiliate with Badminton BC have or offer one or more of the following:

  • recreational and/or competitive organized weekly activities, programs or leagues for youth and adults to participate in

  • organized youth lessons, adult lessons and/or high-performance programs

  • training for players receiving specific benefits like provincial and national ranking, scholarships, team selection financial support for training and competition expenses, CSIP Targeted Athlete/Coach list, will need to be affiliated with a club

  • to rent a local facility, to run their programs, which requires them to submit a Certificate of Insurance of $5,000,000 liability to the facility

Welcome to the 2026/2027 membership season! Whether you are registering a new club or renewing for the season, please complete the required compliance form to provide your club's information. Once submitted, our Member Services team will review your file and issue your invoice.

AFFILIATED CLUB - $254 For the 2026/2027 season, all clubs are designated as an Affiliated Club at a single flat rate of $254. Please note that this is an annual fee for the entire membership season; it is a flat rate and is not prorated, meaning the fee remains the same regardless of when your club joins during the year. (More details will be shared later about the Premier Club program).

Affiliated Club Benefits:

  • Where to Play Directory: Your club will be listed in our public directory. To help us promote your club, please email a high-resolution image of your official club logo to members@badmintonbc.com.

  • Hosting Privileges: Eligible to apply to host Badminton BC sanctioned tournaments, including Provincial Championships and BC Series events.

  • Education & Development: Eligible to host NCCP and Officials education workshops, as well as "Shuttle Time" youth lessons.

Key Dates & Deadlines:

  • May 1, 2026: Early registration and renewal window opens.

  • May 20, 2026: Deadline to submit the completed affiliation form. This ensures our accounting team can issue your invoice and secure your Certificate of Insurance before the season begins.

  • May 31, 2026: Deadline to pay the $254 fee. All fees must be paid by this date for clubs to remain on Tournament Software.

  • June 1, 2026: Official membership season begins.

Important Affiliation Details:

  • Insurance Coverage: As part of your affiliation, Badminton BC provides a Certificate of Insurance (COI) demonstrating $5,000,000 liability coverage for clubs that need to rent local facilities. You can request your COI directly through the compliance form.

  • Payment Instructions: E-transfer payments should be sent to accounting@badmintonbc.com. Please write "Club membership: [name of your club]" in the message/note section of your e-transfer.
