Head Badminton Professional Required, Winnipeg Winter Club

One of Canada’s premier family oriented, social and multi-sport, private Clubs is seeking an experienced Head Badminton Professional.

The Winnipeg Winter Club is going through a very exciting growth period and the successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to lead and develop their own badminton program at this vibrant facility. If you are a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills and have experience working with beginner to elite badminton athletes, this position is ideal for you.

The Winnipeg Winter Club is ideally located in downtown Winnipeg, with 5 international badminton courts. The club also has a full fitness facility, 3 singles squash courts, and 1 doubles squash court, 3 indoor tennis courts, pool, skating rink, pro-shop, banquet facilities, and bar.

Primary responsibilities will be to increase participation in the junior and adult badminton programs, provide coaching and programming for all level of players, and organize house leagues, tournaments, and social activities for the Club members. The ideal candidate must be able to work with a motivated management team.

The position commences September 1st, 2011

Position Summary
As a member of the Athletics Department, the Head Badminton Professional is responsible for:
•    The day-to-day operations of the Badminton Section, including delivery of quality athletic and recreational programs and coordination of leagues, lessons and tournaments.
•    Submitting written reports for the monthly Club newsletter and Board meetings. 
•    Implementing policies and providing expert professional advice to Club Management and the Badminton Committee.

Qualifications
Demonstrated history of success in a similar role including:
•    Coaching all ages and skill levels
•    House league organization
•    Experience with beginner to high performance junior development
•    Tournament organization and management
•    Professional Certification with a minimum level NCCP level 3
•    Strong interpersonal, communication, computer and customer service skills including diplomacy and tact in dealing with members
•    Ability to manage multiple programs, tournaments and events
•    Ability to manage budgets and control costs
•    Ability to work flexible hours
