Technical Official Courses - Local and Regional Umpires

Local Umpire - Kelowna 2022

This course is the first step along BC's umpiring pathway and designed to provide participants with the introductory knowledge, the training and the confidence to umpire matches during a competition.  The learning objectives cover the laws of badminton, scoring on a scoresheet, verbiage, and practical on-court sessions.  The course fee includes 8 hours of classroom and practical training combined, a workbook and a log book. In preparation for the 2022 BC Winter Games

Technical Officials – Regional Umpire Workshop & Evaluations – Vernon 2022

In conjunction with the BC Winter Games, Badminton BC will be hosting a Regional Umpire Workshop at the Games facility for badminton on the day before competition begins.  This workshop will be delivered by Liz-Anne Eyford, who will also be taking requests for evaluation during the tournament.

This workshop is the second step along BC's umpiring pathway and designed to provide participants with an opportunity to review their local umpire knowledge.  Participants will practice verbiage, discuss scenarios and umpire with line judges.
