Safe Sport - How to Report Misconduct and Maltreatment
Badminton BC recognized the recent development of the BC Universal Code of Conduct (BC UCC) and has adopted and integrated this code into our organizational policies.
Badminton BC takes any situation involving misconduct and maltreatment very seriously. Should any individuals involved with Badminton BC, including but not limited to Athletes, Coaches, Technical Officials, Volunteers and Parent/Guardians of Athletes, wish to report any instance of misconduct or maltreatment, they may do so by directly contacting Badminton BC, for the interim, the President of Badminton BC (president@badmintonbc.com) who will determine the appropriate manner to address the complaint according to our Code of Conduct policy.

Unsure what to do when something doesn’t seem right in sport? Check if a behaviour is okay, decide what to do, and get the resources you need. Different people might get different results; this is normal and can help start a conversation.

Indepent Third Party - File a Report

2025-04-01 - Badminton BC and its Board of Directors are committed to addressing all complaints fairly, transparently, and effectively. We recognize that parts of our current process have not met the high standards we strive for.
To improve this, the Board is revising our Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures to enhance both efficiency and fairness in handling complaints. We are also exploring best practices and may involve an Independent Third Party (ITP) when appropriate to ensure impartial resolutions.
The Board is dedicated to providing greater clarity in complaint handling, ensuring fair management of cases while respecting the time, resources, and rights of all members, staff, volunteers, and Directors.
We will seek member input in Spring/Summer 2025 to ensure all perspectives are considered as we continue to refine our processes.
