ANNOUNCING GENERAL OPERATIONS MANAGER!

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am very pleased to announce the appointment of James Holloway as the new General Operations Manager (GOM) of Badminton BC, effective Monday, November 3, 2025.
James brings over a decade of diverse experience in sport administration, event planning, education, and program development. He has held leadership roles in post-secondary institutions, multi-sport club, and international schools, where he successfully managed athletic operations, program delivery, and staff development. Throughout his career, James has demonstrated a strong commitment to strategic planning, athlete and program growth, and collaborative stakeholder engagement. His proven ability to build partnerships and strengthen organizational capacity will be an asset to our association as we continue to advance badminton in British Columbia.
This appointment follows a rigorous and transparent selection process. An independent recruiter was engaged to collect and review all applications, conduct preliminary interviews, and recommend a shortlist of qualified candidates. The Hiring Committee, consisting of Board members with expertise in management and human resources, then conducted second interviews and recommended James for the position, which was subsequently approved by the Board of Directors.
I would like to extend sincere thanks to our recruiter, Janice, for her professional work throughout this process, and to the Hiring Committee for their diligence and thoughtful evaluation.
I would also like to express my deep appreciation to both the previous and current Board members who have carried the operational responsibilities of the association since February. Their extraordinary dedication and teamwork ensured that Badminton BC continued to deliver programs, competitions, and services to our members during this transition. Their volunteer efforts exemplify the true spirit of service and commitment to our sport.
Please join me in welcoming James to Badminton BC. We look forward to his leadership and contributions as we continue building a stronger, more connected badminton community across the province.
